Iran Pledges Cooperation with Russia and China to Challenge Unipolar World Order

05 December

Iran has expressed its readiness to deepen relations with Russia and China in pursuit of a multipolar global order. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian made this statement during a meeting in Tehran with a high-ranking Chinese delegation led by Vice Premier of China’s State Council Zhang Guoqing.

"We are determined to strengthen our cooperation with China and Russia to counter a unipolar world order," Pezeshkian stated, according to his press office. The Iranian president emphasized that "the United States seeks hegemony on the international stage."

During talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the BRICS summit in Kazan this October, Pezeshkian highlighted that collaboration between Moscow and Tehran could mitigate the adverse effects of U.S. sanctions. Previously, the Iranian leader noted that independent nations, through multilateral cooperation, have effectively curbed US dominance globally.
