Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed al-Sudani denounced Israel's imposition of a comprehensive blockade on the Gaza Strip during his address at the plenary session of the Russian Energy Week.
"The decision to impose a blockade not only demeans the residents of the Gaza Strip but also offends the collective conscience of humanity. Today, the international community must openly question whether there are any existing agreements and principles capable of resolving this situation, or if any nation can act unilaterally," al-Sudani remarked.
"The world has long overlooked the Palestinian issue, and now we're left pondering how it reached this point, why Hamas has resorted to a new intifada. However, we mustn't forget that the Palestinian people have endured years and decades of persecution, oppression, and non-compliance with numerous UN resolutions. The UN Security Council has passed approximately 70 resolutions concerning the Palestinian problem, yet none have been implemented, including by the Israeli authorities," stressed the Iraqi prime minister.
