Kremlin Condemns Israeli Strikes on Damascus

01 October

Russia condemns Israel’s strikes on Syria’s sovereign territory and remains in constant communication with the Syrian side, though it does not currently see any immediate threats to Syria’s political leadership. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov made this statement during a press briefing.

"We are, of course, in constant contact with our Syrian friends. At present, we do not see any direct risks," Peskov said when asked about the airstrikes on Damascus and potential risks for Syria's political leadership. "Of course, we condemn such strikes on a sovereign state," he added.

Earlier, Syria's Ministry of Defense reported that Israel had attacked the country using military aircraft and drones, resulting in the deaths of three civilians and injuries to nine others.
