Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu stressed the unacceptability of Western countries' support for Kiev's militarism during a meeting on the sidelines of the G20 Foreign Ministers' meeting in Indonesia on Thursday, the Russian MFA said in a statement.
"During the talks there was a detailed exchange of views on the international and regional agenda with a focus on the situation in Ukraine. Russia's principled position on the unacceptability of the West's further support for the Kiev regime's militarist ambitions, encouraging the Ukrainian authorities to roll back earlier peace agreements was confirmed," the statement said. - "The importance of further coordination of efforts through the diplomatic and military agencies in order to ensure the safety of civilians and economic operators in Ukraine, including foreign ones, was emphasized."
As indicated in the diplomatic office, the meeting also touched on other international issues, including the interaction between Russia and Turkey in the Black Sea and within the framework of multilateral structures. "The ministers expressed satisfaction with the dynamics of the political dialogue between the countries at the highest and high level in 2022. They confirmed their readiness to continue close contacts between the leaders of Russia and Turkey, including in a face-to-face format," the Russian foreign ministry added.
