Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held a phone conversation with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan on Tuesday, the Russian MFA reports.
According to the statement, the ministers discussed alternative options for providing grain supplies to countries in need that would not be influenced by disruptive actions from Kiev and the West.
"The ministers explored alternatives to the Black Sea initiative and considered options for delivering grain to the most vulnerable countries that do not depend on the subversive actions of Kiev and its Western supporters," the statement reads.
Furthermore, the two sides exchanged views on the regional agenda, "with a specific focus on the recent developments surrounding Ukraine". It was agreed to maintain contact and continue discussions on these matters.
