Amid the hybrid war unleashed by the West, Russian diplomats will fulfill their duty to the country to the end, and the honor and dignity of the Fatherland and all Russians will not be subject to any compromise. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Friday in a congratulatory message on the occasion of Diplomatic Worker Day posted on the website of the Russian MFA.

"This year we celebrate our holiday amid the hybrid war unleashed by the United States and its allies against our country. There is no doubt that Russia will withstand these harsh challenges and overcome them, becoming even stronger," the minister stressed.

"The staff of the ministry has always honestly and to the end fulfilled its duty to the Motherland and the people. This will be the case this time as well. We will continue to do everything necessary to protect national interests and form a favorable external environment for the sustainable internal development of Russia, increasing the well-being of its citizens. The honor and dignity of the Fatherland and all our citizens have never been and will never be subject to any compromises," Lavrov added.

The head of the Russian diplomacy noted that "the large-scale Russophobic campaign, for which the collective West has been nurturing the Nazi regime in Kiev for many years," has directly affected diplomats as well. "Many of our comrades are now working in extreme conditions, often with risks to health and life. In this regard, I would like to highlight the tireless work of our foreign missions, including their leadership, to promote truthful, objective information about Russia and its domestic and foreign policies in the media space of the host countries," the minister said.

According to Lavrov, serious shifts in global politics and economics have accelerated with the beginning of the special military operation in Ukraine and have outlined "a clear division between the narrow circle of unfriendly states and the rest of the world, the world majority, where they are looking for ways of further rapprochement and mutually beneficial cooperation with Russia." The Russian foreign minister stressed that Moscow manages not only to maintain but also to deepen equal cooperation with this world majority - the states of Greater Eurasia, Africa and Latin America.

"The key to our continued success is the ability of each of us to promptly adapt to the profound changes taking place in the world. All of us - without exception - must not stay still and constantly improve ourselves. [We must] Get rid of outdated stereotypes; expand the professional horizons, learn new areas of foreign policy and actively use modern information and communication technology", the head of Russian diplomacy added. Lavrov also paid tribute to the veterans of the foreign ministry, who are now, in his words, "doing a lot to preserve the best traditions of the MFA".
