Russian and Armenian Foreign Ministers Sergey Lavrov and Ararat Mirzoyan discussed during a telephone conversation on Friday the prospects of reaching a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan with the assistance of Moscow.
"The ministers exchanged views on the implementation of the November 9, 2020, January 11 and November 26, 2021, agreements of the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russia, with a focus on further steps to unblock transport communications in the region and delimitation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.
"The sides also touched upon prospects for reaching a peace treaty between Yerevan and Baku with Russian assistance," the Russian foreign ministry said in a statement on the results of the conversation.
The ministers also discussed issues of bilateral and regional agenda. "Special attention was paid to preparations for Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's official visit to Russia on April 19-20, including the signing of a package of bilateral documents," the Russian MFA reported.
