The concept of Euro-Atlantic security is no longer relevant for Russia, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told journalists following his meeting with the Russian president.
"For the first couple of decades of the last century, we were still within structures that were Euro-Atlantic in nature," - Lavrov recalled.- "All these and other structures that were in some way tied to the Euro-Atlantic framework have proven their ineffectiveness due to, as I mentioned, the US's policy of subordinating everything to its will. Europe has also become a victim of this policy, losing its independence. In this sense, security as something achievable and desirable in the Euro-Atlantic context is no longer relevant for us."
