The escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict has acted as a catalyst for united actions and solidarity within the Arab-Muslim world, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated at the Primakov Readings forum.
Addressing the concept of multipolarity, the foreign minister highlighted that it encourages countries from various regions to demonstrate solidarity. "The ongoing escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict has served as a catalyst for such solidarity, fostering united actions within the Arab-Muslim world," he stated.
Lavrov recalled that last week, a delegation from the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) at the level of foreign ministers visited the capitals of the five permanent members of the United Nations (UN) Security Council, including Moscow.
"At our meeting, we reaffirmed the need for a prompt and equitable resolution based on the two-state concept. This was the principal message conveyed by the united delegation of the Arab League and the OIC to the capitals of the P5 nations and other member states of the United Nations," emphasized the head of Russian diplomacy.
He also highlighted that in the Middle East, Africa, Transcaucasia, Central Asia, and Eurasia at large, there is a growing consensus in favor of the formula "regional problems - regional solutions." "External players are anticipated to assist the countries in their respective regions in every possible way without imposing external prescriptions. If someone wishes to be helpful, it is essential to support the approaches being developed within the region, where the involved countries are better positioned to discern ways of overcoming specific contradictions than those observing from across the ocean," stated Lavrov.
The IX International Scientific and Expert Forum Primakov Readings is being held on November 27-28 in Moscow, focusing on the theme "Post-Globalization Horizons."
