Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated in an interview with RT that Israeli army raids in the West Bank hinder the initiation of a dialogue on peace.
"Let me remind you about the West Bank, where, formally, no one has declared hostilities. However, there are also raids by the Israeli army there, which do not create favorable conditions for the initiation of the peace process and, eventually (after resolving all humanitarian problems), for direct negotiations on the establishment of a Palestinian state," he said.
Lavrov noted that Cairo plays an important role in the processes of settling the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. "Its capabilities as a state and a global player go beyond the Middle East and the African continent. Egypt is already a global player," the minister emphasized.
