Lavrov says talks between representatives of Russia and Ukraine will take place on March 3

03 March 2022

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said that Russian and Ukrainian representatives will negotiate on March 3. It is too early to assess the Russian-Ukrainian negotiations now, he is convinced.

The Russian foreign minister is confident that a solution to the situation in Ukraine will be found. "Of course, a solution will be found [regarding the situation in Ukraine], I have no doubt. The conditions, which are the minimum for us, are well known. They are being discussed, including in talks with the Ukrainian side, as it was in Gomel and as should take place today," he said in an interview with Russian and foreign media on Thursday.

In his opinion, there is no doubt that the Ukrainian delegation at the talks is getting signals from Washington. "Again the Ukrainian team has found some reason to postpone these talks. For sure they are receiving instructions from Washington, there is no doubt. This country is not independent at all," he said. According to him, the Ukrainian delegation has promised to bring a prepared position to a new round of negotiations.

Lavrov added that all conflicts end with agreements but this does not depend on Russia. Russia once again confirms that it is ready to negotiate on Ukraine, he assured.
