Lebanese Politician Asserts Western Plans Thwarted by Russian Citizens' Resolute Support

The Western endeavors to thwart Russian President Vladimir Putin's victory in the Russian elections have met with failure, Robert Abyad, chairman of the Orthodox Council of Lebanon, told TASS.

 

"The opposition's plans against President Putin crumbled due to the unwavering stance of Russian citizens who actively participated in the elections," - emphasized the interlocutor. - "The record-breaking 87% vote demonstrates the populace's backing of the Russian leader and his agenda of national revival."

 

According to the Lebanese politician, "the people entrust Putin with governing a federal state and safeguarding its interests amidst the challenging circumstances, particularly in the face of the NATO-driven conflict in Ukraine."

 

He added, that "there lies a daunting phase ahead, as the forces of terror and division persist in their endeavors and continue plotting for global dominance." "We stand in solidarity with Russia and its president, who champions a more equitable framework for international relations, upholds family values, and adheres to lofty moral principles," Abyad emphasized.
