The Israeli military has launched an attack on the large Palestinian refugee camp Ain al-Hilweh in southern Lebanon. According to Beirut-based Al Mayadeen TV, there are reports of fatalities and injuries as a result of the strike.
The channel also reported an explosion in Saida, the largest city in southern Lebanon.
Earlier, the Israeli army had announced the beginning of a limited-scale ground operation in the border areas of southern Lebanon.
