Russian military doctors have deployed additional primary medical care facilities in Nagorno-Karabakh, the Russian Defense Ministry informed reporters.

"To provide primary health care, military doctors have deployed additional medical facilities in the settlements of Stepanakert, Khojaly and the observation point of the Russian peacekeeping forces in the Lachin corridor," the military department said. The Ministry said that doctors of various specialties and psychologists were also providing assistance at these stations.

"Additional medical points are equipped with modern medical equipment and have the opportunity to conduct examination and primary diagnostics of patients on the spot," the Defense Ministry stressed.

According to the Defense Ministry, Russian military doctors of the Special Purpose Medical Unit (SMU) have treated nearly four dozen patients, five of them children, during the day. More than 60 medical specialists, including military surgeons, anesthesiologists, anesthesiologists-resuscitators,  therapists and epidemiologists, work in the units of the SMU in Nagorno-Karabakh.

On November 9, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan signed a joint statement on the complete cessation of hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh. According to the Russian leader, the Azerbaijani and Armenian sides stop at their positions and Russian peacekeepers are stationed in the region.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the contingent was formed by units of the 15th Independent Motorized Rifle Brigade (peacekeepers) of the Central Military District. Russian observation posts are located along the line of contact in Nagorno-Karabakh and along the Lachin corridor connecting Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh. The command of the peacekeeping operation is located in Stepanakert. The situation is monitored 24 hours a day.
