Mukhametshin: the study of the historical chronicle is one of the main tasks of the GSV "Russia-Islamic world"

The study of the historical chronicle, including the period of the formation of the Soviet state – is one of the central areas of work of the Group of   strategic vision "Russia – Islamic world". Deputy Chairman of the GSV Farit Mukhametshin said today, opening the international video conference "At the origins of modern diplomatic relations with the Islamic world: the life and fate of Karim Khakimov and  Nazir Torekulov"


Farit Mukhametshin noted that Karim Khakimov and Nazir Torekulov were the first heads of Soviet diplomatic missions who worked in a number of countries in the Arab world. They left a bright mark not only in the history of Russian diplomacy but also in the formation of the country's foreign policy and national policy.


Karim Khakimov was a Soviet diplomat, the first Plenipotentiary Representative of Soviet Russia in the Arab countries, who made a significant contribution to the establishment of good relations between the young Soviet Republic and the Arab-Persian world.


Nazir Torekulov is Soviet party and statesman, diplomat, representative of the USSR in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (1928-1936), publicist, philologist.


Their contribution to the development of Soviet diplomacy, in particular in the Arab world, is being discussed today at the international conference organized by the GSV "Russia – Islamic world".


The conference is attended by Ramazan Abdulatipov, Russia's permanent representative to the OIC, Farit Mukhametshin, Deputy Chairman of the GSV "Russia-Islamic world", Radiy Khabirov, head of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Askar Musinov, Deputy Secretary-General of the OIC, and others.
