Palestinian Red Crescent Accuses Israel of Torture

29 October

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society has condemned Israel for violating international war laws on an unprecedented scale in the Gaza conflict, according to Marwan Jilani, the organization’s Vice President.

“The rules of war are being broken in ways we have not witnessed in any other conflict,” Jilani stated in an interview with Agence France-Presse. He described the severe impact of Israel’s recent operations in Gaza, saying that numerous Red Crescent staff members, including healthcare workers, have been detained and subjected to torture. Jilani emphasized that this disregard for international law is “undermining faith in the very existence of such laws.”

Samara Abu Jaoudeh, a spokesperson for the Lebanese Red Cross, expressed fears that Lebanon might face a similar fate. “We hope no country endures what Gaza is going through now, but sadly, the situation here is beginning to resemble the devastating conflict unfolding in Gaza,” she remarked.
