Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin noted the Russian head of state's contribution to resolving the situation in the region, but said the issue of the return of prisoners of war has not yet been resolved. The meeting between Putin and Pashinyan was broadcast by Russia-24.

"Once again I want to note your personal contribution to the stabilization of our region, especially after the war, after signing our joint statement with the president of Azerbaijan, with you. But I want to note that in this context, there is a very important issue that is still unresolved - the issue of prisoners of war, hostages and other detainees," Pashinyan noted.

"I am very glad that we do not have any discrepancies regarding the resolution of this issue [the need for the return of prisoners]," Pashinyan added.

The presence of Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh is becoming the most important factor of stability and security in the region, Pashinyan said.

"First of all, I would like to note that the presence of Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh becomes the most important factor of stability and security in the region. In this context, I hope to discuss with you today your views on the architecture of the security system in our region, in Nagorno-Karabakh, in and around Armenia. Of course, today we will discuss some of the nuances of the activities of the Russian-Armenian joint force grouping," he noted.
