Moscow is concerned about what is happening in Kyrgyzstan, where the situation now looks like "disorder and chaos". The press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Thursday, expressing hope that the efforts undertaken will allow stabilizing the situation in Kyrgyzstan.

"The situation is of our deep concern; naturally, this [Kyrgyzstan] is our very advanced partner," said the Kremlin representative. He reminded that Russia and Kyrgyzstan are working "in conditions of deep integration within EurAsEC and CIS". "That's why, of course, everything that happens there is very important for us," he assured.

"The situation reminds us of disorder and chaos, in this case we hope that, including the efforts of the acting [deputy chairman] of the Security Council [Kyrgyzstan] and the chairman of the SCNS will contribute to the stabilization of this situation," Peskov said. He did not speak in more detail about what was happening in Kyrgyzstan. "What exactly is going on there, we need to ask people on the ground," Peskov said.

As previously reported, FSB director Alexander Bortnikov, in his capacity as chairman of the CIS Council of Heads of Security Agencies, in a telephone conversation with Deputy Secretary of the Council of Ministers Onurbek Suvanaliev, acting chairman of the Kyrgyz State Committee for National Security, expressed support for efforts to normalize the situation in the republic.

The issue of granting asylum in Russia to Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov is not on the agenda now, Peskov said, answering the question whether Moscow was ready to grant asylum to the Kyrgyz leader if he left the republic.

"Wait until we're talking about it, let's still consistently consider the issues that are on the agenda and not engage in some such eventuality," said the Kremlin representative. Peskov noted that he has no information about the fact that Jeenbekov may be in Russia.

Earlier, Kyrgyz presidential spokesperson Tolgonay Stamaliyeva reported that Jeenbekov continues to work in Bishkek. According to her, the head of state is personally conducting negotiations with political forces to return the situation in the republic to the legal direction.
