Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune on Friday noted Russia's role in alleviating the crises. He addressed the plenary session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

"Russia plays an important role in alleviating the current crises through its policies, including through the supply of wheat, which it sends to countries in need around the world. Also, through its efforts to develop cooperation and partnership, especially with poor countries that suffer from crises," the leader of Algeria said.

Tebboune noted that Russia and Algeria are linked not only by trade exchange, but also by political cooperation. "In addition, Russia plays an important role in the forum of gas-producing countries," he continued.

"I had a conversation with [Russian President Vladimir] Putin yesterday, during which we discussed the problem of developing our strategic relations and raising cooperation to a level that meets our mutual interests," the Algerian leader stressed.

Tebboune expressed his deep gratitude for the invitation to participate in the SPIEF, which "is an important event with an increasing role."
