Russian President Vladimir Putin has extended his congratulations to the new BRICS member countries and affirmed Russia's unwavering dedication to further enhancing the association's influence on the global stage.
"I would like to congratulate our new members, who will be fully engaged next year. I would also like to assure all my colleagues that we will continue the work that we initiated today to expand BRICS' influence in the world," stated the Russian leader. He conveyed these remarks through a video link during a press conference held following the conclusion of the BRICS summit in South Africa.
Putin clarified that his statement pertained to the initiation of practical collaboration with the new entrants to the association and those engaging with BRICS within the "outreach" framework. This entails partners who express interest in cooperating with the organization. "We regard this engagement with attention and great respect. We will certainly establish this cooperation," affirmed the Russian president. He added that the BRICS member states will engage in consultations to determine the organization of such efforts. "Through collaborative discussions at the foreign minister and other agency levels, we will formulate appropriate guidelines to ensure the continuous growth of BRICS' role and significance on the global stage," concluded the Russian head of state.
