Russian President Vladimir Putin and French President Emmanuel Macron discussed in detail the state of affairs in the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement, the Kremlin press service reported.

Vladimir Putin briefed on the main results of the November 26 trilateral meeting of the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia in Sochi, which coincided with the anniversary of the signing of the Statement on Nagorno-Karabakh of November 9, 2020. He told how the implementation of measures to observe the ceasefire, the return of refugees, the restoration of trade, economic and transport ties in the region is going," the report said.
"Hope was expressed that the meeting of the heads of the European Union structures with Ilham Aliyev and Nikol Pashinyan, scheduled for December 15, will also be useful," the statement reads.
The expediency of activating the work of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs (Russia, the US and France) was also supported. It is noted that Putin and Macron agreed to continue to maintain close personal contact.
