Alexander Rudakov has been appointed the new Russian Ambassador to Lebanon. The corresponding decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin was published on Friday on the official portal of legal acts.

"To appoint Alexander Rudakov as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Lebanese Republic," the document says. Previously, Rudakov served as Deputy Director of the Department of the Middle East and North Africa of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
