Russian President Vladimir Putin considers the dynamics of Russian-Kazakh relations to be positive.

"With your light hand, the dynamics of Russian-Kazakh relations are such that it gives us an opportunity to look confidently into the future," the Russian head of state addressed Kazakhstan's first president, Nursultan Nazarbayev, at a meeting in the Kremlin on Wednesday.

Putin cited data on trade turnover as an example. "Despite the fact that the pandemic stole 4-5% from our trade turnover, but already this year in the first half of the year the growth [is] under 20%, 18, I think, with something," the president said. According to him, "it is a good indicator that not only in this direction but also in other relations will develop in the best way".

Putin drew attention to the fact that he meets regularly and is in contact with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. "This dialogue is also very much in demand, it gives good results," the Russian leader believes. He asked Nazarbayev to give Tokayev "his best wishes" after his return to Kazakhstan.
