Putin Holds Telephone Conversation with Rahmon

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Tajik President Emomali Rahmon engaged in a telephone conversation to discuss cooperation in combating terrorism and addressing migration issues. The Kremlin press service provided details of the conversation, highlighting its constructive and businesslike nature.

 

According to the press service, the conversation centered on "cooperation in countering the terrorist threat, as well as in the field of migration." Both leaders agreed to enhance collaboration mechanisms among specialized ministries and agencies.

 

The parties expressed confidence that attempts to exploit migration issues for political purposes would be effectively countered and would not adversely impact the relationship between the two countries. The statement further conveyed their assurance that recent efforts by certain entities to stir tensions surrounding migrant workers coming to Russia, including those from Tajikistan, would be jointly addressed, safeguarding the enduring fraternal ties between the two peoples.
