Moscow's contacts with the Islamic Development Bank should be continued, Special Representative of the Russian Foreign Minister for Interaction with Organizations of Muslim States and Ambassador at Large of the Diplomatic Department Konstantin Shuvalov said on Monday at a round table in the Federation Council.
"In 2015, the president of the Islamic Development Bank, at that time Ahmad Ali, met in Moscow with the chairman of the Bank of Russia, during which they discussed the prospects for the development of Islamic banking. Of course, it is necessary to continue these contacts," he said, stressing that it is important when looking for partners for the implementation of Islamic banking in Russia.
"It will be necessary to work extensively to explain what we have done, it will be necessary to listen to their opinions and take into account how individual national financial structures in the Islamic world interact among themselves and with their central organization - the Islamic Development Bank," Shuvalov added.
