Reports of Russia and Syria blocking a refugee convoy in the al-Rukban camp, timed to coincide with the month of Ramadan, is a throw-in by militants, a joint statement issued on Wednesday by the interdepartmental coordination headquarters of the two countries reads, RIA Novosti reports.
"Pro-American media actively replicated information distributed by the Mahavir As-Saura militants from the occupied U.S. zone of al-Tanf about the alleged blocking by Russia and Syria humanitarian convoy in al-Rakban, already coordinated and timed to coincide with the Muslim Holy month of Ramadan," the document signed by the head of the interdepartmental coordinating staff of the Russian Federation for the return of refugees into Syria - the chief of National Control Center of Defense of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mizintsev and the head of the interdepartmental coordination headquarters of Syria for the return of refugees to the territory of the country - the Minister of local government Hussein Mahluf.
The United States, as the statement emphasizes, continues its information and propaganda campaign to hold the Syrian authorities responsible for the possible aggravation of the epidemic situation in al-Rukban, and also continues to try to impose on the world community the opinion about the alleged difficulties in delivering humanitarian aid to the residents of North-Eastern Syria.
"The idea of the need to restore the former regime of operation of the cross-border mechanism with the opening of the uncontrolled al-Yarubiya border crossing on the Syrian - Iraqi border near the oil fields captured by the Americans is widely propagated... The goal pursued by the United States is obvious - to continue supplying the militants under their control with UN humanitarian assistance," the representatives of Russia and Syria stressed.
"To improve the economic situation in Idlib and the surrounding countryside, the SAR government has opened the Miznaz crossing, through which Syrian goods and products are delivered to the Idlib de-escalation zone," the report said.
