Russia Prepares for Putin's State Visit to Kazakhstan

19 November

Russia is actively preparing for President Vladimir Putin's upcoming state visit to Kazakhstan, underscoring the importance Moscow places on its relationship with Astana. This was announced by Alexander Sternik, Director of the Third Department of CIS Countries at the Russian Foreign Ministry, during the inaugural Russia-Kazakhstan Media Forum hosted at TASS.

“At this very moment, work is in full swing within the department to prepare for Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin's state visit to Astana. It’s happening very soon,” Sternik stated. “This highlights the priority our leadership places on the strategic partnership and alliance between Russia and Kazakhstan.”

Sternik emphasized that Moscow holds the Russia-Kazakhstan partnership in high regard, especially given the current global circumstances. “This isn’t an empty phrase; it’s a deeply serious directive from our leadership. We are determined to ensure that this commitment resonates across all levels of state power and institutions influencing public opinion. We bear a significant responsibility to preserve this highly valuable relationship,” he added.

The Russia-Kazakhstan Media Forum, taking place at TASS from November 18 to 19, brings together leaders of media organizations from both countries. The forum has been officially designated as the first of its kind. Discussions cover topics such as enhancing bilateral cooperation, challenges and opportunities for traditional media, and the impact of artificial intelligence on journalism. Additionally, participants are addressing preparations for the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
