Russian Ambassador in Ankara: Perpetrators of Moscow Region Terrorist Attack Do Not Represent the Islamic World

26 March

Russian Ambassador to Turkey Alexei Erkhov emphasized in an interview with TV100 channel that the perpetrators of the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall cannot represent the Islamic world.

"It is crucial to recognize that various individuals with malicious intentions cannot claim to represent the entire Islamic world, with which Russia shares close ties," stated the diplomat. Erkhov condemned the horrific attack, which resulted in the loss of numerous innocent lives, and stressed the importance of bolstering international endeavors to combat terrorism.

In response to inquiries regarding the potential involvement of the United States, the West, or Ukraine in the attack, Erkhov refrained from making premature statements, emphasizing that the investigation is ongoing. He assured that the results of the investigation would be communicated to the international community, including the Turkish public, in due course.

The terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall occurred on the evening of March 22, claiming the lives of 137 individuals, with the possibility of further casualties. Eleven individuals have been detained in connection with the attack, including all four primary perpetrators who attempted to flee towards the Ukrainian border. Legal proceedings have commenced with the authorization of their arrest by the court.
