Russian President's Special Representative for the Middle East and Africa and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov discussed the Palestinian-Israeli settlement as well as the settlement of the crises in Libya and Syria at a meeting with Egyptian Ambassador to Moscow Ihab Nasr on Monday.
"There was a detailed exchange of views on the emerging situation in the Middle East and North Africa region with a focus on the problems of settling the crises in Libya and Syria, as well as the Palestinian-Israeli conflict," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The parties also reviewed some practical issues of Russian-Egyptian cooperation in trade, economic and humanitarian spheres in accordance with the agreements reached after the visit of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to Cairo on April 11-12.
The meeting was held at the initiative of the Egyptian side.
