Russian Deputy Foreign Minister discussed the situation in the Middle East with the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia

Russian President's Special Representative for the Middle East and Africa and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov discussed the situation in the Middle East with Saudi Arabia's Ambassador to Moscow Abdel Rahman al-Ahmad on Monday, with a focus on resolving the crisis in Yemen, as well as the development of bilateral dialogue.


"Particular attention was paid to the situation in the Middle East region with a focus on the results of the inter-Yemen conference on the settlement of the crisis in Yemen, which was held in Riyadh from March 29 to April 7 this year," the Russian MFA said in a statement. - "In doing so, they welcomed the establishment of the Leading Presidential Council, called to play an effective role in establishing the long-awaited peace in Yemen".


As the ministry noted, the sides also touched on bilateral cooperation. "They discussed topical issues of further progressive development of multifaceted Russian-Saudi interaction, including maintaining an active political dialogue," the diplomatic office added.
