Moscow is studying the issue of transferring a batch of Sputnik V vaccine to Kabul on a gratis basis for vaccinating employees of the lower house of the Afghan parliament. This was stated by Zamir Kabulov, Special Representative of the Russian President for Afghanistan and Director of the Second Asia Department of the Foreign Ministry, in an interview with TASS, timed to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the Treaty of Friendship between Russia and Afghanistan.

"At present, we are working on an appeal from the lower house of the National Council of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan for the donation of a limited batch of Sputnik V to vaccinate the personnel of the Afghan parliament," he said.

Kabulov noted that the issue of vaccine delivery was discussed during a recent visit to Moscow by Afghan Foreign Minister Mohammad Hanif Atmar. "However, no concrete agreements have been reached yet," he pointed out.

Earlier, in an interview with TASS, the Afghan Foreign Minister said that Moscow and Kabul through the ministries of health will soon discuss the timing and volume of supplies of the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine to the republic.
