Russian Foreign Ministry: negotiators of nuclear deal aim to speed up work on documents

Participants of the negotiation process on resumption of the Iranian nuclear deal during the eighth round on December 27 confirmed their determination to accelerate elaboration of the texts of the whole package of documents, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement issued on Tuesday.


"At this stage, a common determination to intensify efforts to work out the texts of the entire package of documents of the future agreement in the interests of reaching mutually acceptable solutions in a short time was confirmed," the statement reads. - "Cooperation will continue in various formats, including meetings of working groups on lifting sanctions, nuclear issues, and the modalities for implementing a future agreement to restore the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) [on Iran's nuclear program]."


On December 27, the eighth round of talks on restoring full implementation of the nuclear deal began in Vienna with a meeting of a joint commission of the JCPOA member states. As a result of the previous round, which ended on December 17, the sides agreed on how to structure further work to return to the implementation of the JCPOA within its originally agreed framework.
