The grain deal has been extended for 60 days, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko told TASS on Tuesday.
"Russian Deputy [Foreign] Minister [Sergei Vershinin], who is in charge of the deal, made a statement yesterday. Indeed, the deal was extended, its extension for 60 days was agreed. Once again, it was confirmed as a package deal," Grushko said.
The deputy foreign minister stressed that Moscow will insist on making sure that the commitments given to Russia "to fulfill precisely the second track, meaning the removal of all sanctions, direct and indirect, on supplies of Russian agricultural products to international global markets, are fulfilled.
"It is not only about the possibility of transportation, the access of our ships to foreign ports, [but] about insurance, as well as the need to address issues directly related to the production, cultivation of grain in our country," he pointed out. - "This means the supply of appropriate technology, spare parts, various agricultural equipment and so on."
The deputy foreign minister said in a conversation with reporters that the grain deal would be extended on the conditions that have been defined before. "I should reiterate that the main thing for us is to completely fulfill those promises and obligations that have been made (regarding the export of Russian products - TASS). In this sense, nothing changes for us, and we will work hard and make our partners fulfill their commitments," Grushko said.
The diplomat added that the removal of restrictions on Russian agriculture exports is underway, albeit slowly.
"I should reiterate that the process is underway, albeit very slowly. Our fertilizers still remain at the ports of many countries, and we are ready to supply them to the poorest countries for free. Artificial barriers and delays are being created," he said.
