A military adviser with the rank of Major General was killed in an improvised explosive device explosion in Syria, and two others were injured, the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry told reporters.
As specified in the Ministry of Defense, on August 18, when the Russian convoy returned after a humanitarian action 15 km from the city of Deir ez-Zor, an improvised explosive device went off on the side of the road in the course of traffic.
"As a result of the explosion, three Russian servicemen were injured. During the evacuation and medical care, a Russian senior military adviser with the rank of Major General was killed from severe wounds, " the military department said.
