Russian Navy ships sailed into the Arabian Sea for the Aman-2021 exercise

A detachment of Russian Navy ships has entered the Arabian Sea to participate in the marine phase of the Aman-2021 exercise, the Russian Defense Ministry told reporters on Monday.


According to the military department, the group of ships consisting of the frigate "Admiral Grigorovich", the patrol ship "Dmitry Rogachev" and rescue tug SB-739, together with other countries participating in the exercises, will have two days to develop cooperation in repelling the attacks of high-speed small targets and conduct training in joint maneuvering.


According to the Defense Ministry, the participants of the exercises will also work on a joint counteraction to piracy, inspection operations and firing from various complexes of shipborne artillery weapons at a surface target of the type Killer Tomato at a distance of about 5 kilometers.


Russia is taking part in the exercise at the invitation of Pakistan. It will continue until February 16.


The Aman-2021 naval exercise conducted in the waters of the Arabian Sea is a non-aligned exercise. The countries that came to the exercise participate on their own.
