Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and Azerbaijani Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov discussed by telephone the ways to stabilize the aggravated situation in Nagorno-Karabakh. This was reported to journalists at the Russian Defense Ministry.
"Due to the aggravation of the situation in the zone of the peacekeeping operation in Nagorno-Karabakh, Russian Defense Minister Army General Sergei Shoigu had a telephone conversation with Azerbaijani Defense Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov on March 25. The heads of the defense ministries discussed ways to stabilize the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh and maintain security in Transcaucasia," the military department said.
They also exchanged their opinions on the peacekeeping operation and the humanitarian situation in its zone.
