The doctors of Russian Emergencies Ministry has assisted 268 people after the explosion in Beirut

Medical assistance by the Russian Emergencies Ministry doctors was provided to 268 people, the press service of the Ministry reported TASS on Monday.

 

"Specialists of the Ministry of Emergency Situations provided medical assistance in 268 cases, including 29 children. Employees of the Rospotrebnadzor laboratory conducted 248 tests for COVID, and psychologists of the EMERCOM of Russia provided assistance in 33 cases," the department said.

 

 

The Ministry of Emergency Situations also clarified that Russian rescuers founded the bodies of eight victims from the rubble after the explosion.

 

"During the work in the emergency zone, rescuers and canine services examined 3,100 square meters of territory, including 6,800 square meters using unmanned aerial vehicles. During the work, 8 victims were found and extracted, " the Ministry said.


Earlier it was reported that during the work, rescuers found and extracted the bodies of six people from the rubble.

 


Emergency responders arrived in Beirut on August 5 to help victims of the explosion at the port and participate in a search and rescue operation. At the stadium, Russian specialists deployed a mobile hospital, where doctors of the "Centrospas" detachment of the EMERCOM of Russia received 92 victims, including 12 children, on August 6-7. According to the operational headquarters, search and rescue operations by the Russian group of the Ministry of Emergency Situations have ended at the site of the explosion, while emergency rescue operations continue.


A powerful explosion at a warehouse in the port of Beirut occurred on August 4. The blast wave destroyed and damaged dozens of homes, and more than 300 thousand people were left homeless. According to the latest data, 158 people were killed and more than 6 thousand were injured. According to the Lebanese Interior Ministry, the cause of the tragedy was a fire that occurred during welding operations near 2.7 thousand tons of ammonium nitrate, confiscated by customs six years ago.
