Austrian Interior Minister Karl Nehammer said that the shooter killed in Vienna sympathized with the "Islamic State" (ISIS*).
The criminal was wearing a belt with a fake explosive and was armed with a rifle, the minister added at a press conference this morning.

On Monday night, a group of unknown people organized a series of attacks in the Austrian capital, according to preliminary reports, in six locations. Three people were killed and 15 injured.

One of the attackers was eliminated, the others fled and are now wanted. The media wrote that the shooters were about seven.

The authorities consider the attack a terrorist act and ask citizens not to leave their homes if possible. Sessions of the National Council and Parliament were canceled; classes in schools were suspended.

Many countries expressed their condolences to Austria. The president of France, which has also recently been attacked, said he "shares the shock and sorrow of the Austrians". "This is our Europe. The enemies must know who they are dealing with. We will not concede anything," Emmanuelle Macron wrote on Twitter.
