President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at a meeting with Russian Ambassador to the republic Alexei Borodavkin noted the importance of the upcoming 2023 visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Kazakhstan. The press service of the leader of Kazakhstan reported on Tuesday.
"During his conversation with Russian Ambassador Alexei Borodavkin, the head of state noted the importance of the upcoming visit of President Vladimir Putin to Kazakhstan this year, as well as the XIX Forum of Interregional Cooperation in Kostanay this fall," the distributed message reads.
In addition, the current state and prospects of the Kazakhstan-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership were discussed during the meeting.
On the same day the president of Kazakhstan held a meeting with Ambassador of China in the republic Zhang Xiao. The parties noted the relevance of the "Central Asia + China" summit to be held in Xi'an in May 2023, as well as the planned state visit of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the PRC.
"The importance of further strengthening of bilateral relations, expansion of economic, investment and cultural and humanitarian ties was emphasized. The head of state praised the peacekeeping efforts of Chinese President Xi Jinping on the political settlement of the situation around Ukraine," the press service added.
