Turkey and Russia continue negotiations on the delivery of the second S-400 batch

Ankara and Moscow continue their dialogue on the issue of supplying Turkey with the second regiment of S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems. This was stated by Turkish Ambassador to Russia Mehmet Samsar.

"Our relations and cooperation with the Russian Federation are developing in all areas. Cooperation in the defense industry also plays an important role in this context. Negotiations between the competent departments of the two states are continuing, " he said, answering the question of what stage is the discussion of the delivery of the second  set of S-400.

"Officials of both countries provide the necessary answers to speculation on this issue. We are determined to continue cooperation between our countries at the level of state leaders. In this context, I think it would be better to focus on the concrete results of our cooperation, without taking into account speculation," the diplomat said.

Russia and Turkey signed a contract in 2017 for Moscow to supply Ankara with S-400 systems. Turkey is the only NATO country that has purchased these systems from Russia. Ankara's decision provoked a sharply negative reaction from the US and the Alliance as a whole. The United States does not stop trying to get Turkey to abandon the Russian air defense system.
