Two Palestinians were killed on Friday during clashes with Israeli soldiers in the West Bank city of Nablus. The Palestinian Ministry of health confirmed the casualties.
According to Wafa, Israeli forces stormed the central neighborhoods of Nablus in the early morning and conducted searches in several houses. Clashes erupted, leading to Israeli soldiers opening fire on a group of Palestinians. Two individuals were killed, and three others sustained gunshot wounds and were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The Israeli army's incursion into Nablus followed a recent operation in the town of Jenin and its refugee camp, also located in the West Bank. According to the Palestinian health ministry, the clashes in Jenin resulted in the death of 13 Palestinians and left at least 120 people injured. In response, the Palestinian leadership decided to sever all contact with the Israeli authorities and "called for immediate action from the UN Security Council to ensure the international protection of the Palestinian people."
