UN Security Council to Address Gaza and Yemen Issues on January 12, Reports Russian Foreign Ministry

12 January

On January 12, the UN Security Council (UNSC) is set to convene two crucial meetings focused on Middle East concerns, as reported by Russia's Permanent Mission to the United Nations in its Telegram channel. The meetings will address the situation in the Gaza Strip and the recent airstrikes by the United States and the United Kingdom on Yemen.

The initial meeting, titled "The Situation in the Middle East, Including the Palestinian Question," is slated to commence at 15:00 local time (23:00 Moscow time). It is anticipated to deliberate on the threat of forced displacement facing Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

Following this, an "open briefing on the US and UK strikes on Yemen" will be held, initiated by Russia. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres is expected to deliver remarks during this briefing.
