State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin has arrived in Algeria, with his delegation landing at Houari Boumediene Airport, as reported by TASS. Upon arrival, Volodin and the accompanying Duma deputies were welcomed by Russian Charge d'Affaires in Algeria Alexander Marchenko and Speaker of the National Assembly of Algeria, Brahim Boughali.
The visit includes a scheduled meeting between Volodin and Boughali to discuss the development of interparliamentary cooperation and to strengthen collaboration between Russia and Algeria in various sectors such as economy, agriculture, trade, and tourism.
Prior to his arrival in Algeria, Volodin visited Nicaragua and Cuba, where he held meetings with the respective countries' leadership.
The Russian delegation accompanying Volodin includes:
- Ivan Melnikov, First Deputy Speaker of the State Duma
- Deputy Chairmen of the State Duma Alexander Babakov, Vladislav Davankov, and Boris Chernyshov
- Leonid Slutsky, head of the LDPR faction and the Foreign Affairs Committee
- Chairmen of various Duma committees: Pavel Zavalny (Energy), Andrei Kartapolov (Defense), Vasily Piskarev (Security and Anti-Corruption), and Alexander Khinshtein (Information Policy, Information Technologies, and Communications).
