Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has reaffirmed China's steadfast support for the Palestinian people, irrespective of shifts in the international landscape. This statement was made during his meeting with Mahmoud al-Aloul, head of the Palestinian Fatah delegation, on the sidelines of an inter-Palestinian meeting in Beijing.
"No matter how the international situation changes, China will always firmly support the just cause of the Palestinian people," Wang Yi stated, as reported by Xinhua news agency.
He emphasized the necessity of achieving the principle that "Palestine belongs to Palestinians, Palestinians lead Palestine, Palestinians govern Palestine" to resolve the ongoing crisis in the Gaza Strip.
Earlier this year, representatives of various Palestinian factions held talks in Moscow and Beijing in an effort to bridge the divides between them. These meetings, held in March and April 2024, aimed to foster unity among the Palestinian groups.
