Iran is ready to mutually simplify issuance of individual visas for Russian tourists. Iranian Ambassador to Moscow Kazem Jalali said this in an interview with Izvestia published on Thursday.
"Simplifying the visa issuance for group tourist trips is one of the cases on the agenda, which the embassy is currently dealing with. Along with this, we are ready on a mutual basis to simplify individual visas for tourists," he said.
The ambassador noted that the number of tourist trips between the two countries has increased in 2022. "According to available data, the number of trips of Russian tourists to Iran last year increased fourfold compared to 2021, which, of course, does not yet match the capacity of the two countries," Jalali added.
Jalali stressed that there is no threat to travelers in the country and they can safely visit tourist areas. "As of today, no reports have been published that the safety of tourists is threatened. They visit the tourist areas of Iran quite safely," he concluded.
