The Tajik and Kyrgyz sides have held talks to eliminate the consequences of the conflict on the border, resulting in the unblocking of the road to the Tajik jamoat (community) Vorukh. This was reported on Monday by the press service of the head of Tajikistan's Sughd region following a meeting of working groups of the joint commission for monitoring the observance of the ceasefire on the border.
"The [Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan] working groups agreed that it was necessary to open the roads and ensure traffic. On the same day, the road towards the village of Vorukh was opened," the report said. According to the press service, another meeting of the working groups was held on September 18 at the Guliston checkpoint, where the parties stressed that the existing issues should be resolved through negotiations.
