Israel and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have agreed to fully normalize relations, according to a joint trilateral statement with the United States on this issue, posted on Twitter by President Donald Trump.
"President Donald Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the United Arab Emirates spoke today and agreed to fully normalize relations between Israel and the United Arab Emirates," the document says.
Israel and the UAE have agreed to seek a peaceful solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the countries said in a joint statement with the US on normalizing relations.
"The parties will continue their efforts to achieve a just, comprehensive and lasting solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict," the statement said.
Under the terms of the deal with the UAE, Israel will temporarily postpone the decision to extend its sovereignty to territories in the West Bank.
"As a result of this diplomatic breakthrough and at the request of the US President Donald Trump, with the support of the UAE, Israel is suspending the Declaration of sovereignty over the areas designated in the "Vision of peace" document, and will focus efforts on expanding ties with other countries in the Arab and Muslim world," the document says.
