The level of mutual trust allows Russia and Kazakhstan to discuss and solve the most difficult issues openly, and no one will be able to drive a wedge between the countries. This is said in a statement by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to the readers of the International Affairs journal on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Kazakhstan.
"We and our Kazakhstan friends look to the future of our relations with optimism. No one can drive a wedge between us. The current level of mutual trust allows us to discuss openly any, even the most complex issues, which sometimes are brought to our countries, and to agree on mutually acceptable ways of solving them," Lavrov said.
"At the same time we are not going to stop," - the minister continued. - "We will continue to work together to bring bilateral relations to new levels for the benefit of our brotherly peoples and in the name of strengthening regional security and stability."
Truly strategic partnership
The head of the Russian diplomacy noted that during the last three decades the countries managed to strengthen the centuries-old ties of friendship and good neighborliness that unite their peoples. According to him, today relations between Russia and Kazakhstan continue to develop in the spirit of strategic partnership and alliance.
"Large joint projects are being implemented in sectors vitally important to our economies and in the scientific and educational sphere. The advantages of the transit potential of Russia and Kazakhstan are effectively used. The links between small and medium-sized businesses are expanding. Cooperation is growing along the longest land border in the world," - Lavrov reminded. - "A striking example of a truly strategic partnership is the joint use of the Baikonur Cosmodrome. The city of the same name can be rightfully considered a symbol of Russian-Kazakh friendship and privileged science-intensive cooperation."
The Russian foreign minister described the cooperation between Moscow and Astana on the Eurasian space as fruitful, where "systematic steps are taken to deepen the integration within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union, strengthening of regional security and stability, particularly within the CSTO," as well as the implementation of mutually beneficial initiatives in the framework of the CIS. "It is difficult to overestimate the role of a trusting dialogue between our leaders, heads of governments, as well as co-chairs of the intergovernmental commission on cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan," said Lavrov.
The minister also recalled the development of cultural and humanitarian exchanges between the countries and holding Days of Russia in Kazakhstan as well as Days of Kazakhstan in Russia on a regular basis, which this year were held in Moscow, Astrakhan and Kazan.
