Emissaries of the Palestinian Hamas movement arrived in Moscow last night, where they intend to hold a series of meetings with Russian officials. This was reported Wednesday by the Donia Al-Watan news portal.
The delegation included Musa Abu Marzouk, deputy chairman of Hamas' Political Bureau abroad, and two other members of the Hamas leadership, Fathi Hamad and Husam Badran. The newspaper notes that at the talks in the Russian capital the parties plan to discuss the situation around Jerusalem, the Palestinian dossier in general, and relations with Russia.
Meanwhile, according to the Al Mayadeen TV channel , they are to meet in Moscow with Special Representative of the Russian President for the Middle East and African countries, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov. Hamas envoys also intend to hold consultations in the Duma and the Federation Council. The television station informs that they are also expected to meet with the head of the Chechen Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov.
The last time a Hamas delegation visited Moscow was at the end of December last year.
