03 July 2023

More than 200 armored vehicles, including armored vehicles and tanks, invaded the town of Jenin and a nearby Palestinian refugee camp on Monday morning as part of a special military operation by Israeli forces. This was reported by the Al Arabiya TV channel.

Israeli forces launched missile strikes against the Palestinian refugee camp in Jenin and its environs on Sunday night. Shortly thereafter, the Israeli military entered Jenin and surrounded the camp, cutting power to it and blocking roads leading to it. Ambulances for victims are not allowed into the camp. According to the latest figures from the Palestinian ministry of health, five Palestinians were killed and at least 30  were wounded as a result of the special operation launched by Israeli forces.

The Palestinian foreign ministry blamed the Israeli authorities for the consequences of the military operation in and around Jenin. The MFA called on the world community to take measures to immediately stop the escalation in Jenin and on the International Criminal Court to "end its silence and begin bringing Israeli war criminals to justice."

The Egyptian foreign ministry called on international forces to immediately intervene in the situation in order to "put an end to the violations by the Israeli authorities." The Jordanian foreign ministry issued a similar statement.
